Sir: His name was Jacob WALTZ. That is the way he signed his name. There are quite a number of official copies of his signature on official documents. Cordially, Gregory E. Davis

Well sure, if you start with the assumption of his name being Waltz. That leads you to census data, citizenship info and all that, but many claim other names for that particular guy who supposedly worked a rich deposit in the area of the Supes.

If you rule out any other possible names, you might be barking up the wrong chicken. Right now we have The Brownie Holmes Manuscript thread claiming Wolz.

It all depends on how individuals with different accents were to pronounced his name. Thus the reason for the different spelling. Cordially, Gregory E. Davis

Now go back and look at what I quoted

Nothing in his statement is any kind of evidence as to what the name really is.

It came right after my post #3.

No offense to any one, but let us keep it real.

Keeping it real is exactly what Greg Davis does all the time! Since you obviously know little about the subject, maybe you should listen to a man whose (almost) entire house is a library of Arizona History. He is also a man that gives freely of his time and information to anybody that asks (politely).

CN, if you are purposefully trying to alienate one of the few people who not only has an encyclopedic knowledge of the subject, but has the evidence to back up ANYTHING he says, then you are doing a smash-up job! Keep up the good work, and soon, you will be posting statements to yourself.

I've always wondered what possible interest the SJ has of the LDM - according to them it just doesn't exist ...

Loke, they were definately involved in the Caballos and Victorio peak affairs. (Thanks to NP's lil map ) so it is a natural assumption that since they were exploring the country, that they would be interested in the Superstitions and surrounding areas.

Incidentally neither does Tayopa exist :laughing7: yet :icon_scratch::dontknow: :notworthy:

Nice of you to chime in Mike, and to make promises for Mr. Davis. I will be patiently awaiting the evidence.
