Dangerous to elements in the body?

We have metals in our body. I want to get into this hobby this week when I order a cone magnet off Amazon. I am just wondering how these 600 , 1000 lb magnets don't attract the minerals in your body. Does anyone know if there are any health concerns with such powerful magnets?

Good question.... Like attract the iron in your blood to one spot and possibly cause a clot?

Anything like that. It seems very scary.

The last few years I have not heard of any issues such as that. I have heard where the strong magnets have wiped out some cell phones. There are workers who work daily with the big crane magnets that move scrap iron and I have not heard of any issues there also. Enjoy the sport and be careful not to fall in with a pocket full of heavy finds

Rob, the minerals in our bodies are in trace amounts only, and are
spread throughout the body. You are in no danger.

An MRI magnet is rated in "Tesla's", and a two or three Tesla
magnet is thousands of times more powerful than the one
you use for your fishing.

Now, if you've got a steel rod or screws in your arm/leg, I'd sure as
hell keep that magnet away from it..things could not end well..

I've see/read of some home-grown medical treatments using magnets
to "re-align" the magnetic fields of the body. No idea if there's any
validity to the claims.

You'd probably have a better chance at a hernia trying to pull a magnet that big off an immovable object!..

The only danger is them wiping out the data on your credit and bank cards' magnetic strips if you put them together. That and screwing up you watch.

For transport and handling just use a plastic jar top like comes on peanut butter and tape a large washer to the outside and slip the cup side over the face of the magnet. Care must be taken when handling two magnets, they will get you every time if you are not careful Bart was correct.
