I bought a bag full of marbles, because, well, I like them. They are supposed to be vintage, but I don't know if they are. Good thing is that I didn't pay much. A better thing would be if anyone out there thinks they are really vintage. Any info is greatly appreciated, and thanks for looking! That's ok. I like them anyway. I usually find marbles while I dig, but I haven't had any luck with finding them lately. I know some are a little older, due to pontil. That's about all I know.

Moxie and cheese need to see them. They are the marble experts and I think they will tell you that some are very vintage...

Thanks Austin. I am kind of hoping that I picked up a few Peltier banana cat eyes. The 8 ribbon marble threw me off, because usually vintage marbles have white ribbons, not green. Yes, I have to agree, Cheese is an expert. I haven't been on the site in awhile, so I'm happy to see that enthusiasm for marbles has grown.

Hello Diggerbutt!

Nice grab. The marbles shown are from modern to maybe 1980s or so.... so "vintage" may or may not apply. I see a lot of stuff from the 80s being called vintage, so maybe. Some of those cateyes do look like peltier bananas and if so, they would be old for sure. It's hard to tell, are they iridescent? I'm not a cateye expert but I have a hunch they are japanese imports instead. Sorry if it's bad news, but you got some marbles you like, so it's not all bad, right?!

Hey Cheese, I agree some are probably Asian. Some of the marbles are iridescent, but some of the older looking ones are not. Thanks for your response. Maybe I'll dig up some older ones this weekend. Part of the excitement is the find.
