  • Something not right. Was that a homemade sn?? does the intake have a restrictor in it?? Look inside where the hi pressure water enters the sn. 52 psi should work--how long are the hoses you bought? Try reduction but just doesn't ring true?? Does the pump output have lots of air in it=seal leak. Remove footvalve and stick finger into the input hole, does it meet the metal or a gap between the impeller and the hose input?? Someone might have put in wrong impeller or blockage within the impeller itself. Coat habger will clean-lotza luck-John
Thank you for your response to my questions regarding the 1.5" x 2" Gold king pump I have.! I put a pressure gauge on it last night and maxed out at 52psi. If I reduce the high pressure hose to 1" at my suction nozzle will it increase my discharge pressure or should I leave it at 1.5"? I already had purchased 1.5" high pressure hose, and 3" hose to run from suction nozzle to sluice box. I tried it out and got a little suction but not enough to move any dirt/gravel. I was thinking reducing the high pressure line down to 1" at the suction nozzle might give me more suction at the nozzle, am I thinking this through correctly?

    Thank you again!
    Hey, Hoser John-
Just read a comment you posted about hot water wetsuit systems. Do you have any illustrated instructions for such a system?
Hi John, I wrote you quite some time back about me and my family going to Trinity lake for a little vacation weekend September 21st.

Any way, we will be staying at the Trinity Alps Resort cabins on the Stewart Fork. My wife got a half off deal for Sept. 21th weekend. Business at the cabin has been real good. You let me know when you'd like to come over John. I'll have you as my guest. As for work, it's been kinda crazy along Highway 199. I'm on a Caltrans crew along that route. With the fires over the hill in Oregon we've had a lot smoke.

You wrote back about the EFNF of the Trinity or Mumbo Creek. Any areas closer to the Stewart Fork?

    Thanks John,
    Mike
Good morning John. I haven't actually logged on to my account on this site for a while so didn't see your reply.

Any way, we will be staying at the Trinity Alps Resort cabins on the Stewart Fork. My wife got a half off deal for Sept. 20th weekend.

Business has been real good for the cabin. I have it booked up through November. You let me know when you'd like to come over John. I'll have you as my guest. As for work, it's been kinda crazy along Highway 199. I'm on a Caltrans crew along that route. With the fires over the hill in Oregon we've had a lot of folks coming to the coast to get out of the smoke. I understand you folks are getting quite a bit of the smoke down in Redding too.

    Well John, take care pard,
    Mike

Hello John, it's been a while since we wrote. I hope all is well with you.

John, I have another request for prospecting ideas in an area you may be familiar with. My wife, boys and I are going to be going on an outing at Trinity Lake this September. I was wondering if you know of any public areas to prospect up in that neck of the woods. I will be geared up for panning and or water sniping. I sure appreciate any pointers John.

Any chance you will be up in that country around September 20th. I'd sure like to have a cold one with you.

    Thanks John, take care,
    Mike (delnorter)

Good morning John, I hope all is well with you and yours. Finally a nice sunny day over here on the coast.

Anyway, John you recommended an inexpensive set of Calrad headphone to me a while back. It was the 115 series as I recall, but what model would you advise for a Gold Bug 2 swinger with normal hearing?

    Thanks John,
    Mike
