  • how close to elk city are you ? i have a friend that has lived there for the last 30 or more years and is a dredge wizard. he knows more about dredges and dredging than hoser john and that is saying alot. he lives in town. right up the street from the old store. if you get a chance to get to elk city look him up. his name is gay richardson.

I started a post yesterday looking for good paydirt. I have a vacation rental property, I want to give free paydirt to my guests, giving them an awesome panning experience with their vacation. Something for them to do on rainy days.

Are you still looking to sell? I'm experimenting with how to do it and sourcing material. I sold a vacation home in 2013 and have started to build a new home, hopefully ready this summer. I'll go through a decent amount creating this idea and then should be consistent ongoing after house is finished.

    Thanks, Jeff (Scout160)

i am working on getting a claim up on caribou mountain maybe we will have to hook up this summer and find some yellow stuff
I live in the Boise area. I'm just working a creek around Centerville, it was dredged in the 1890s but with my sluice I'm getting maybe a gram a day and best thing is everybody is workin grimes creek so I'm all alone.I want to lay a claim but its endowment land so don't know if I can lay claim. There are many piles of tailing and I ran a few buckets and got good color but i need highbanker to run ... I was having that same thought. Takin tools with me so I can mod as I go. Sorry I'm on my phone and tying isn't easy...
Good job on the sluice mods.
If the full load of water at the front of the flare isn't sufficient to remove the oversize, maybe the punch plate could be set up so that it has a pitch instead of running parallel with the bottom of the box. Say, 1½" between punch plate and box at the front of the flare, then maybe 1" between punch plate and box at the oversize discharge ports.
Oh, what state are you in...I'm in Idaho and heading for one of my claims first thing in the morning.
Should have an update to my blog on Monday.

    Later,
    Bob
