    Hey Chenty,
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I know my post can get long some times. It's my daughter's fault, she bought me Dragon speech, it's awesome.
It works just like they said, I talk and it types.
The Golden Rabbit Coach tour update.I have the parts, the broken parts are fixed, and I'm putting it back together now.
It should run smooth and quiet when I'm done.
And just in time too. It's time to smog and register. Figures Huh?
Flash, this is your after Saturday night update. It's now early Sunday morning I've started working on my coach. It's in front of my garage and I'm taking it apart. The crack is extensive on my driver side exhaust manifold. One of my friends said that they will help me welded back together. He's an expert at welding cast-iron. I should be able to have a put back together in just about a week. It's all that I can think about now. After a full inspection I found about half a dozen other minor things on the engine. Two things I've already take care of. Tomorrow I start pulling the manifold off the engine block. I'm also going to replace all my fan belts at the same time. I'm going to share this message with the other guys here too.
I'm on the Redondo Beach- Lawndale border off Inglewood blvd. and Artesia blvd.
I went to the bridge to Nowhere once. I packed too much gear to walk that far and back.
It was dark when I got to Heaton Flats. I walked to my van and rested an hour before I drove home.
It was like 9:00PM when I started home.
Next time I go to the Narrows I will spend 1 or 2 days back there.
I've slepted out in the open, no tent or tarp(though a tarp is a good idea) several time out there. No problems with the wildlife.
    I'll do it again.
You can camp anywhere along the river. Hell I've seen tents pitched behind the cars in the edge of the lot.
The Heaton Flats campground is primitive, no water, but the river, no fires, and about a mile walk from the lot.
I still mine there, and find gold there. Perfect for Mountain Bike Camping.
    Hay Vince,
    I'm Rich,
Well I have been recently laid off so now I can go as often as I can afford the gas to drive the 114 miles round trip.
So I have the time, I just have to budget the expense. The middle of the month is the best time so far.
I am going up this coming Wed. the 14th. mid day and staying til Sat. morning. That gives me 2 full days mining without the weekend crowds.
and when I get there I'm going to explore a spot on the hill side and take a test sample or 2.
You are welcome to join us. We'll be in the Chevy Truck cab motor coach. My wife likes to come but I do the mining, She just enjoys the great outdoors.
Most folks don't know East Fork Rd. turns into Camp Bonita Rd. That goes to the parking lot. That's where we will be. I'm shooting for noon , but it may be closer to 1PM.

Can I add you to my friends list ? You can ad me to yours.
    Hi Chenty,
Welcome to TNet. I joined recently myself. I'm glad I did.
Every new miner helps. Public land use is a hot topic. We need People in #s to keep our rights to Prospect.
Look up the 1872 Free Mining Act.Individuals minng Public Land is part of our American Heritage

I have been mining for over 20 years as a week end getaway.I am a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America(GPAA).
I haven't gone on mining trips with the club, but they have a gold and Treasure Show Circuit Nation Wide every year. I go to the one in April in Vegas.
You can trade gold, see the latest recreational mining gear, attend Free Classes on mining.
SG East Fork River is my most common destination. You may meet TNet members up there.
I call Mining the hardest fun I'll ever have. My Wife comes sometimes and she reads and guards the coach w/ the little dog.
I'll always look forward to going mining I hope you will too.
