Will go tomorrow and try to make it to Camp Savage. Putting off San Bernardino indefinitely. Was told by Patrick Keene of Keene Engineering that I should stick to the San Gabriel River.
Found directions to the Gulch- "easiest path to the mine is to take the Heaton Flats trail on the East Fork." Please let me know if correct. Thanks again for your responses.

Howdy Steve. I'm a friend of H2Charlies. I looked at your pic and have to ask, Are you on the forest road walking towards Heaton Flats at the East Fork River?
You look like a miner on the hunt. I've been mining up at EF since 1995. One of my favorite mining zones. Hope you get some good luck.
