I recollect your posts about the DD coils but didn't realize that Reg has commented about it too. I see no reason why a DD wouldn't do the same thing as a mono or DF coil in that regard, except that it is probably a better defined lo-hi-lo signal over elongated iron such as nails, rail spikes and drillrods. I'm guessing / thinking that is what you are describing. It hasn't occurred to me to mention it... but please feel free to comment here on TreasureNet... the article has just been posted to the gold metal detecting forum. You probably realize that Steve's forum is closing at the end of the month. A shame, but not the end of the world. Take care and please don't be a stranger for so long...
