Very nice gold. I see the bear or maybe an elephant. I would go with bear, as questioning if "you've seen the elephant", has civil war connotations. By the way, nice '26 dime.

"seeing the elephant" predates the Civil War. You went to California in the 1850"s if you wanted to see the Elephant.
