That's what I have is the X-terra, it's a real nice machine. I use mine in factory mode, you'll see that in the instructions.

What I did when I got mine was throw a penny, nickel, dime quarter, 14 kt ring and silver coins on the ground & scanned over them, that way you'll learn the numbers right away & know what your digging. it's pretty darn accurate. You'll always come across that one thing that reads a 38 & it doesn't come up a dime, it might come up being a silver ear ring.

I've taken mine down to the gulf now several times & learned to turn down the sensitivity a bit! If you have any questions on operation feel free to send me a message & I'll help ya what I can,

Good luck, Chris

A test garden is always a good idea! You will love the X-70. I purchased from Kellyco as well and they are great to do business with.

good luck!

Wow it took me 3 machines to get to the level of the one you just bought. Put in in the time it takes to get good with it. Also do the research to find good spots, no substitute for that.

i have been reading lots of post from people saying that they buy a detector and then "wish" they had gotten a better one.
then go buy a better one not to long after, I thought I should start with a good one that way I wont need to buy another for while, if ever.

I agree with your philosophy.

I also agree with the post suggesting you construct a test garden.

This is so often overlooked, and is vital to learning your machine.
