PS - that's a HER. One manly lookin woman modeled for Liberty that day, for sure. Charles E. Barber may have had childhood issues - I believe he used his mother as the inspiration.

I remember reading in a loaner book (something like "The Stories of American Coinage") that when the coin, and the whole Barber series, was unveiled a lot of folks were disgruntled at such a unlovely choice of heads.

I finally found this guy about 12" deep. I'm debating whether to put him in a tumbler or peroxide method. Any suggestions?
