Really depends on the amount of guests visiting the beaches. Most State beaches are larger and attract more people as the town beaches the people going there don't tend to show off a lot of gold nor is there a concession stand for buying food and drinks. So the coins are less as are the paper money that washes out of pockets to lay on the bottom for collecting early in the morning when the water is clear and the wind is down. Wear polarized glasses for this.

I find more at town beaches or the lake beach instead of the state beach. It cost to get in the state beach area around here or the ones that don;t cost I would never swim in the water there.
