Ok....so it's pre-Civil War, but I got a few chuckles reading the Civil War post below.

I've been working some good ground lately, and was out walking through the woods and came upon a nice stream running through a flat area. thinking to myself "If I was a soldier, marching through this area, that would be a great place to fill my canteen". I started working the edges of the creekbed, and popped out with this. Not my oldest coin, but my oldest US coin. Hope ya'll enjoy.

The area has produced quite a few other nice finds, such as these.

Great coin. No capped dimes for me yet, but I got two capped half dimes. They are a thrill to find. Congrats on a great coin.

They weren't all from the same hunt, so I posted it over here after reading the Civil War thread. The key is huge. Here is a pic after electrolysis.
