No. Gold falls into a very wide range on the discrimnate scale. It can read anywhere fron iron to zinc penny. It is because of the diffrent shapes, sizes and mineral content of gold.

Does anyone know if a detector can be set to only detect strictly gold (ie no aluminum or other metals). Is there such a detector? Is there one that could be used in water? I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but it would be nice on those days you didn't want to did every target.

I like my detector, just saying.
