just got permission from a family member to detect 40 acres of property dating back to 1902.

the good news is a few days ago my great aunt was out gardening and dug up a dime she said it was a few inches deep but no more then 6... she showed it to me today... 1910 barber dime;)

super excited.
just thought i'd share! happy hunting

Re: extremely excited

That land is lots older than 1902 as no telling when someone lost something there. Good luck and have fun.

Re: extremely excited

I'm extremely excited for you, too. All that land should keep you busy for a while. Where abouts in Maine do you live?

Check the dates and note the dept of coins you find. This is a good way to findout a dept to date ratio. Around here 3"to4" is about the '40s And 13" is about 200Years old. The coverage varies in different parts of the country. In the desert things seem to lay on the surface almost forever. That's what I have seen in AZ,CAL and NM. Frank
