What does your "second job" pay you?

If you sold all your finds and counted all your clad. I'm interested in whether the beach folks do better than us inland mud diggers. I probably average about 50 cents an hour digging every coin signal I get plus pulltabs until I get sick of them. Driving the "house" to Florida in January...YAY!

Jack Diddly Squat. I do it for the fun. Maybe pull a silver now and again. If I was clad grabbin and could stand it, I would make about a dollar or two an hour (if I worked really hard and was a bit lucky).

More money to be made from the beach and no need to do a 50/50 split with the landowner.

Maybe. Seems like all the beaches are beat down by all the other tectin Sons of Beaches. It's hopeless.

I have done both so I would venture a guess that on any given day it could go either way.

Clad goes to battery fund. When on sale I pick up a 48 pack of AA alkaline batteries from "The Source" priced at $14.99.

I never sell my silver. And I haven't found enough rings to equal cashing in yet.

Sanity...I hear ya! Don't get me wrong...I do it for the fun of it. But the "fun" increases exponentially with the amount of loot I find. 8)

I probably couldn't even pay my water bill with it all. I've been detecting for under a year now, and am picking it up quickly, but don't have a boatload of finds just yet. It's still exciting to dig up history with every find! The question is if the history is a day old or a hundred years. This is what makes it so addicting for me...what is out there that I've not yet found? Plus, it's such a stress reliever, the job can finally get out of my head. HH Everyone!!

Sanity isn't what it's cracked up to be. But I swing my detector for any pay(nickle, dime, quarter...nickle, penny, dime, penny plus pull tabs) because I'm doing what the boss tells me to do. Oh, I'm my own boss while swinging.
