Hey guys I was metal detecting at an old foundation, not sure the year of it, but I found an 1804 half cent there so I'm assuming it around 200 years old, I found this spoon with some hallmarks on the back not sure what its made out of or what the hallmarks mean any suggestions??? The spoon is not magnetic and I couldn't get a good enough pic of the hallmarks so hand sketched them real quick.

Thanks

Try this URL. www.925-1000.com

It is the online encyclopedia of silver marks, hallmarks, maker marks.

I started to look through it but without seeing the exact spoon markings, I decided the search was going to be guesswork for me. You will have better luck since you can get up close to the spoon with a magnifying glass.

I did some research ( I was bored at work) and 2 of the pictorial marks look like the Franco-British cross. Not sure if that helps or not.

Good luck,

Jay
