Where to hunt

I just received my first metal detector for Christamas (Discovery 3300), and was wondering where to go to hunt. Any suggestion? I live in Kansas, so no beaches around here, just a lot of farm land.

Hey ropt hunt anywhere people gather or have in days gone by. schools, churches, fairgrounds and the town square.

Start testing around your yard to see what you can find. And try your yard again with different settings just to see what you might have missed.

Are there any historic places in your area? some of the experience detectorists was mentioning do research at the library to see if any historic events or old places in your area.
