If you would not waste time on junk go to jewelry store. Detector has limits but can locate what you cannot see. What it is is proven by you recovering it.
When you try to shortcut junk you miss valued material defeating purpose. Find junk ,recover junk. Keep a percentage of junk your looking for.

Gold items are relatively low on the conductivity scale so if you disc out pull tabs you also disc out about 90% of the gold rings. The others are in the foil range. Relevenchair is right about you having to dig all the junk if you want the gold. This is a hobby and if you want a profit for your time, get a part time job at a fast food place.:laughing7:
