First time out!

So after the torrential downpour here in eastern Pa I went out with my bran new fisher F2. Bless you FedEx driver who delivered my package in the rain. At first I left the sensitivity where it's set (75% I believe) I got signals everywhere! At first I thought something was wrong but then I realized that I was in a very trashy nail filed area called my back yard... So I moved to the field behind my house.... Also very trashy I found aluminum and a piece of an old rusty barrel... And I found my first coin!!! A 1996 penny lol ill update this with more soon as I am just learning the ropes.

I seemed to get less chatter when I turned the sensitivity down. Is this normal? The ground was VERY wet and there is a possibility it was a very trashy area.
