Research and map hunting

It is amazing how well we can now do research online...my experience in security investigations is helping me do keyword searches online. Last night I found digital maps of the Ottawa (Canada) area at McGill University AND historical information about street battles in the 1800s between the Irish and French workers here who built the canals. This historical research is giving me many ideas about where to metal hunt for coins and military artifacts where the military were called in to squash riots and fighting the in streets here when the area was called Bytown. I think we should further promote online research sites for our metal detecting...I found research on Bytown at Bytown DOT net Immigration and Settlement in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, Including the Cities of Ottawa and Hull / Gatineau
