A neighbor asked me to help him find a detector to purchase locally- hes looking for coins and jewelery, MN area. Choices are Bounty Hunter, some no names or a brand at Dunham sports called a Stinger. He has some learning difficulties so he doesnt want the higher end detectors and $$$ is always a factor- BH confused him. Anyone heard anything about these Stingers? Seems ok and very good display and operation

I would never trust a brand I had never heard of before. Too much Chinese garbage being solid under a myriad of names. If he needs a simple detector, direct him towards a Tesoro Compadre. As simple as they come, but still a good detector.

Ok well thanks all. Ya i tried but the only way to get anything like that here in online or further away than he wants to go. I guess we will try it out and keep ya posted. For $122 he seems to like it, i told him he could get a used Garret or good used name brand but he doesnt want used
