How many rings found in a year(On land, and not a beach)

I ask this because I really believe you have to know your detector and you have to be good at it to even come close to the number found on the beach or in the swimming areas. My best year I found about 16 silver and gold, 29 if you include junkers. These were found with my old Eagle Spectrum, which I still use. As you can see, not that good when it comes to rings. But then again, with the ID I am guilty of not digging every signal, like I would if I were on the beach.

Despite digging every gold and tab signal, I was unable to find any gold objects at all...

For keepers, I have 3 silver 1 gold. Two of the silver were volleyball courts though, so semi beachy.

Then PI8MAN knows what the detector is telling him. I could use some of his pointers. On days when I decide to dig all ring/nickel/tabs, I sometimes get a gold ring, but like Mineralized_Miner, I usually come up short, and eventually cease digging all signals. I just bought a new detector Saturday, and when the snow is gone, I will get familiarized with it. It is a Whites Coinmaster GT. My old Eagle Spectrum is getting rough on the shoulder. Thanks for the reply.

kind of hard to compare beach to dirt, it's better to compare time spent vs ring count..

but I spend more time in the dirt....
there's nothing like the beach though, wish I could get there more often.....

So 12 good ones and 5 or more worthless rings

I have 1 ring gold colored but marked .925 with 6 small cloudy diamonds, probably GF 925 silver, found in dirt.
Didn't get to detect till Aug.
Beach is much easier to search.

Renegade - I started with aCoinmaster Pro a couple of years ago. I found my first gold ring with it. A 14ct with a Chinese panda coin set in it. Came up as a zincoln. This year I gold on beach - 1 gold in park 6 silver.

After five years I not only found my first ring (sterling silver). It was the first piece of jewelry I ever found. Up until this year it had been nothing but clad. I am not complaining. I am just thrilled to know that my Xterra 305 has a variable appetite. All the best to everyone for 2014.

If I might, I would like to share one other observation. I have an IRA CD at the bank which I purchased on Sept 2 of this year. It has accrued $3.65 to date. During the same period, I have found at least $15 in clad. I love my metal detector !!
