Yeah me too, but even mine don't look that pitted. :laughing7:

Can't recall seeing one like that design before.

Almost has the look of a Gerber MK2 such as issued to Special Forces guys in Vietnam. Looks a little short to be one though and the guard isn't correct. I'll agree with throwing knife or a cheap copy of a Gerber. . Too bad. The last Gerber I had was early 70s vintage and I sold it for $400.

If the handle is solid steel it wouldn't be much use as a throwing knife. Throwing knives have weight forward balance.

Throwing knives do have a solid steel blank through the handle. The balance is just forward because of more steel in the blade like his pic shows a wider taper toward the front.

Yes, most have full tang construction, but the weight is always forward by design, or they don't throw well. Since the early days of steel knives those that were made for throwing have had weight forward design, and I assure you that the weight on the knife in question is very butt heavy. It is an odd knife, but it surely wasn't designed with throwing in mind. It looks more like a combat knife like soldiers or sailors made in machine shops during WW2, and would be very odd for a colonial knife. The turned handle really looks like a more modern design.

Yeah I missed the spun steel handle gunsil. I thought it was just the rusty blank that was under the handle. No way that baby would fly right.
