Same, flip a coin. They are both entry level single frequency VLF detectors with the same capabilities. Niether one is recommended for wet saltwater sand, just dry sand.

Boatlode, you aren't going to get a lot of depth from an entry level machine on a salt mineralized beach. As Terry mentioned, you will need to stay near the dry sand. And if the detector chatters too much, you will have to turn the sensitivity down. Terry has a great video on his website about how to choose a beach detector.

I don't have a bucket of money to spend. I tend to concentrate my search on the dry sand near the dunes. But you raise another question. Am I going to improve my depth on the beach with one of the two newer machines, or should I just stick with my old reliable BH I?
