My friend who detects with me, his 20 year old bounty hunter finally laid down on him, he is looking for a good mid priced detector. Let us say in the $500-$800 range. I am well aware of the AT Pro, Also looking at the Tesoro Tejon. If you have any thoughts on these two machines or any of the minelabs or whites etc. in this price range please help. TY much.

Terry is right about the Outlaw. It is a great detector and with the 3 coils your all set for what ever you want to hunt. The life time warranty is a huge PLUS. Outlaw1.JPG

A Minelab Xterra is in that price range and a super machine. Versatile, lightweight and fun to use.

White also makes an wide selection of good machines like the M6 and Fisher also in the F70. Both are good machines. Good luck.

There are quite a few in that price range. Also check out the White's MXT, Minelab X-terra 705, Fisher F70, and for a hair more, the Fisher CZ-3D.

Thanks for the tips. So far, anyone else have any suggestions for a good coins shooter on land in the $500-$800 range?

I would take Sandmans advice he is pretty darn sharp when it comes to detectors. I have an AT Pro and a V3i I use regularly. As for the ATP is is a great detector for the price. I have a belief that what ever price range you're seeking most detectors are pretty equal in that price range. So if you're wanting to spend $550 -$700 all detectors in that price range have pluses and minuses over one another.
