Looking for a long handled (foot use) beach scoop. Will be used in and around saltwater, so I assume stainless steel is a must. I'm open to used and would prefer it to be honest, but a great price on a new one will work as well. Any chance I can get a few links? I bought the ctx 3030, lesche digger, and lesche sampson 31" shovel already. Wife is starting to give me the stink eye, so this needs to be one of my last purchases and I need to keep it as low as possible.

Check out a Stealth scoop.

I have a stainless scoop, If I had it to do all over again I would get aluminum. The thing is a pain to lug around because of the weight.
I will never use a scoop enough to worry about it holding up (which is why I bought stainless). If beach hunting is all you do, then maybe stainless is the way to go.
Personally I would rather buy an aluminum scoop every 5 years than carry 5lb stainless scoop for a couple hours/hunt just because it will last 20+ years.

there is a lot of scoops out there. It all depends on how big you want the scoop to be. I have 2 scoops one I bought 35 yrs ago it is a small one then I bought a Stealth it is bigger so it all depend but I would make it a SS as I do believe it will last longer.

You can get a aluminum scoop then install a SS lip and save a lot of weight with same results..

I have the Stealth 720i along with several others and there have been many more that I've used in the last 44+ years.. It is by far the best scoop I've ever used. It will handle anything you can throw at it. Prying rocks? No problem! Full basket of wet sand? Child's play....except for your aching back! It comes with a lifetime repair/replace warranty too. The aluminum ones don't hold up near as well. Now if you're just sifting dry sand, just about anything will work ok.

If your hunting mostly wet and dry sand, you'll be happier with an aluminum scoop. Get the stainless steel tip like TH said. Reiley' 6" might be a good choice.

Here it is. Been using it for 14 or so years in wet and dry sand. It started out as a SS Jet hand held scoop from Kellyco. I added a piece of electrical conduit and coated it with that rubber dip used on hand tools. Added a handel bar grip. it will outlast me. Frank five star.png

I have never used or owned a scoop before, so excuse the ignorance, I assumed the entire thing needed to be ss if being used in the saltwater... What would a lip do to prevent rust from the saltwater? (Assuming that is what its for). Also, where or what do I search for to find a lip?

Aluminum is lighter, SS is stronger, aluminium scoop with stainless lip is lighter than SS and stronger than aluminum...

The stainless tip is on aluminum scoops. The scoops are about half the weight of a full stainless scoop. The tip is riveted on, aluminum and stainless won't rust
