Hey all! Looking to get a new detector. I am looking at either of these. What's the opinion of others on which is a better machine as far as depth and separation. I've owned a tesoro and love it. I love the warranty as well. Never tried teknetics but like the look of it . any input?

Unless your soil is moderate to highly mineralized, you might not notice any difference between the vaquero and your current cibola. In my fairly LOW mineralized soil, the cibola with 9x8 stock coil and omega with 11" double-D were probably pretty even for depth. Both separate well. Since I'm usually hunting coins in areas that contain a lot of modern, non-ferrous trash, I much prefer the multi-tone omega. For older, iron/nail infested sites where most non-ferrous targets are going to be dug, I'd probably go with the cibola or vaquero.

My soil changes from time to.time here and we do have spots of heavy mineralization. I have never had a numerical readout and love the idea but tesoro is such a great brand and I have used a friend vaq and it gets about 2-3 inches more in depth when it is balanced over my cibola. Now that may be bc I am very positive on my ground balance as well

Honestly I would look at the G2+ over either one mentioned if you want a screened machine. I have owned 2 Omegas and 2 Vaqueros along with the F-19 which is identical to the G2+ but with an 11" DD coil. I sold the F-19 for $450

I would probably opt for the blacked out Vaq with the new DD coil then.

Close YOUR eyes.. Take a DEEP breath.. Now SLOWLY exhale. Feel your heart beating in your chest. Listen to the sounds around you and let your thoughts go completely. Now, which machine do you see in YOUR mind's eye?

Presto! You've done it! Enjoy your new machine! :occasion14:

I have had both in the past and just bought my my second almost new in box Vaquero for a steal of a deal. I forgot how much I enjoy using the Vaq with a good pair of headphones.

I just got, or have on its way to me, the [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]11X8" Widescan for the Vaquero , want to see what it does for me in my farmers field. As of right now in the fields, the Omega is in first place. But, I think with the new coil, it will be neck to neck.
