Hi! I am new to metal detecting and am looking into buying my first detector. From what I've researched I believe I have settled on the Tesoro Compadre but am lost as to what coil I should purchase. I live in SE Pennsylvania (right outside of Valley Forge). I will be starting to search in parks, tot lots, and schools. I'd like to move into relic hunting but we'll see how things progress.

Which coil would you recommend, or would you recommend a different MD.

Thanks.

Get the 8" coil, as it is a better "all-around" hunter. The smaller coil is better in heavy trash, but the 8" coil is deeper. Good luck!
