I found this today on the back of my property about 12"-14" deep. All the times I've hunted back there and the Ace 350 never picked it up, but my AT Pro did. I thought it was just another Quartz or chert rock at first and overlooked it. It's not magnetic, small amount of iron oxide on one side, appears to be a Quartz chert mix under 10x and my pointer will start beeping at over 2" away. VDI is 84-98. Thanks skippy. I live on a glacial moraine and have found quit a bit of raw ore on my property. This piece hits like the chunk of magnetite I found, but it's not magnetic. Very strange

Looks like it could be some natural copper/mix. Hard to tell from pics. What's the weight, hardness and SG?

The weight is 15g and the SG is 1.25
Not sure what that falls under, did I win?
And I can't test the hardness with all the different minerals on it.

I've heard about natural copper nuggets being found, but have never seen them. Have heard that natural copper can be in rock the same as free gold. So maybe come sort of rock/metal combo?

You mean conductive ore? I placed two N52 Neo's close to it and there's nothing. Most of the Quartz and granite rocks that I found have some level of field near these magnets. Its time to get the hammer out ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1460095589.060847.jpg

I dropped it in Hydrochloric acid for a minute and dissolved a lot of the lime and sea crust off. It needs it again, weight is 14g. Pin pointer picks this up at 2" away.
