my main detector is an AT gold, but the wife has been taking an interest in detecting, so a few months ago I purchased a Teknetics T2 from a gentleman that bought it a few years ago and only fired it up once in his front yard (looks like it just came outta the box) and after playing with it for a while I'm pretty impressed with how deep it goes. adjustable threshold, auto ground balancing and it seems pretty user friendly too. basicly seems to have functions allot like my AT gold, but now I can purchase a new AT pro from a friend for a price thats too good to pass up. I feel like a dog in a room full of fire hydrants, heheh. would like to get some input from anyone that has used both.

Tek produces great machines but the few I've used are sensitive to emi and are chatty Kathys. The atpro depending on what you get it for will be easier to sell if you don't like it. The market for those now is huge. If you can get the ATP for sub 350$ I'd jump on it if it's in great shape.

I love my T2, but if the price on the AT PRO is "too good to pass up"........ Don't pass it up

I think the AT-Pro is a solid Detector
The T2 takes some time to get use too

Both are easy to learn MD's might consider warranty issues on a used machine. I also like manual ground balancing machines. Best of luck with what ever machine you decide on.
