Metal detector that will detect through stone?

Any detector will see through stone,so long as the stone does not have any metallic properties....which many stones DO have SOME metallic content to varying degrees. Most any detector will see see through most any stone though,they don't care too much about that.

IDXmonster is right. "Stone" is just another form of ground (albeit harder than soil, ha). So whether stone, wood, sand, soil, air, plastic, flesh, etc..... metal detectors see through those substances. It's only other forms of metal that they can't see though.

Sometimes big stones will alter the actual spot where your machine says it is. In other words, pin pointing may be slightly off depending on the size and type of rock.
