Hello,
I am interested in purchasing a new detector, primarily for use in the NE, finger lakes region of NY relic hunting. Any recomendations on a good machine that wont break the bank too bad? I currently use an ancient whites coinmatser, so Im sure most machines will be an improvement.....Looking into some minelabs. Any advice or personal experiance would be apprechiated. Thanks.

I just purchased my 1st detector and went with the Nokta Fors Relic...I really liked the vids I watched on it and I think it will do great for where I live...you should check it out.

The AT Pro might be a good choice for you if that is your price range. Waterproof, all around detector. Not great for a salt water beach, but, fresh water and coin/relic hunting it can handle quite well. If your budget is over $1000, there are many other choices too.

I agree with Terry's list. Anyone of those will do you just fine. Watch some videos of those and see which one displays the info the best for you, which sounds do you want to hear, and look at some spec.s like weight, options, coil selection (both MFG and aftermarket). Do you need one that's waterproof, weatherproof or not? Mine is neither, but I have a cover on it that allows me to hunt in the rain.

Good Luck in whichever you choose.
