Welcome to the forum Leroy ! Maybe when you are done you will have the whole tractor... that would also be cool. My first find was a screwdriver... yours is much better than that !

Hey you can actually use a screw driver... You can't use a old foot long piece of metal! But yeah, I was pretty excited when I found it.

i was pretty excited too. way way back then i had an old jetco brand bfo detector. never found a coin but found a screwdriver and a bicycle chain. I would have preferred to find a tractor part.

Yeah I had a bounty hunter but those are really bad so I got the Garrett AT Pro and found that in an area I've searched before!

Well it may not be much to start off with, but at least you started!

Lots of people collect all their metal, and then turn it in for cash at the end of the year............perhaps this tractor part would be a good start?

Good luck out there and don't forget to post pictures of your finds, good or bad, we like to see them.

Some of my first find were rusty ax heads, horseshoes etc. Eventually I had to refine my keepers as what can you do with piles of rusty implements? Besides, they get heavy to pack out if you keep too many.
