Cowabunga Neilo!!!! :D :D :D That is almost to small for my eyes. It goes to show what a pro with a good detector in the GMT can do. Fantastic pic too by the way...........

I used to hunt old tailings piles with a goldbugII. I would lay out a 9 by 12 plastic tarp and shovel a thin layer of dirt from the pile across the tarp, then detect. I found some very small nuggets this way. some were as small or smaller than the one in your pix.

Never found a nugget that small, but one time out in S.Oregon I detected a single strand of speaker wire about 1/8 inch long using a Whites GM VSat. :)

"Good on ya, mate...." Nice going, Neil. With my GMT I have found flakes as small as 1/10th grain. PS: Book was sent, with pamphlet. HH Jim

Thanks Jim I am looking forward to them arriving. I am not sure how small 1/10th Grain is but I imagine recovering things that small is a challenge. I use two small plastic shovels tossing the soil from one shovel to the other halving and scanning as I go gradually leaving only the gold. Seeya Neilo ;D

Neilo, if it helps, there are 480 grains to a Troy oz. Just think tiny. Your eyes gotta be better than mine.
