Hey Guys!

Just wanted to say hello from Southern Maine. I was just given a metal detector from my father, Garrett ACE 250, which I found to be a great starter detector. When I read about this activity being an addiction I had know idea how much fun it would be. I quickly found myself getting a Garrett Propointer AT and a Lesche digging tool. I have found some fun items, but am still just getting into this hobby. anyway, just wanted to say hello and see if anyone in Southern Maine wanted to talk detecting or give me pointers. I have not been able to find any clubs in the Portland, ME area but would love to talk to someone who is a seasoned detectorist.

You have a great starting point with the 250 -- it's a fine detector and you should pull some good finds with it from southern Maine. Make sure to post us pics when you dig 'em up!
Welcome aboard! :occasion14:

My advice is try several different types of detecting to find out what you like the best.

Plan on spending at least 100 hrs learning your machine.

Dig everything.

If 9 passes over a target show a nickel and the tenth a pull tab...it will be a pull tab.
