White's Classic ID & Gold Rings

Hi everyone. I'm new around here but not new to metal detecting. I have a Classic ID and I do enjoy using it but have never found anything gold in the several years i've been hunting. I have found several Mercury Head Dimes and wheaties. Also a few buffalo head nickles. I'd love to find a gold coin but does that mean I need to dig every thing? I find lots of beaver tails and finally just get tired of digging them. Those of you who have found gold rings, do you dig lots of beaver tails too?

Anyone who could give me some good pointers on using the Classic ID would sure be appreciated!

White's Classic ID & Gold Rings

If your getting nickels you will get many medium to large gold rings. Unfortunately, women lose most of the gold rings and they are usually thinner and smaller. Many of these will be missed by just discriminating foil. So you will have to dig trash to get most of the gold rings on land any way. The best spots to find rings is swimming areas, beaches, swing sets, sports fields, and clothes lines. HH CG
