Don't wait for a buddy though - there's nothing like swinging a coil.

First get a couple of plastic 5 gallon buckets and then put a sheet of cardboard or plywood across them for a table.

Then practice with various objects - don't worry, you'll get a lot of them in a short amount of time.

Look and listen to your machine as you sweep over them; it will be worth your time - in spades.

"You ask where I live. I cannot tell you. I am a Voyageur, a Chicot, sir. I live everywhere. My grandfather was a voyageur; he died while on a voyage. My father was a voyageur; he died while on a voyage. I will also die while en route, and another Chicot will take my place. Such is our course of life."

Welcome from Florida. You will find a lot of support (& humor) on this forum.
If you haven't already, here is a good place to look for ideas on your machine, and how to use it.

Freedom isn't FREE! Thank You to all who choose to Protect & Serve in our military and Law Enforcement. But I am ashamed and embarrassed lately. To those FEW who would tarnish the badge and muddy the uniform, that I proudly wore for 20 years, YOU don't deserve to be wearing them! ALL human life is valued. Compassion, RESPECT, and morality is paramount.
To those who don't or won't value these,
GET OUT! I LOVE the U.S.A., and this hobby!

Hello from Idaho! Eris was my grandmother's name...the goddess of discord. I'm moving to Coos Bay, Oregon in a couple weeks, hoping to be able to detect in that jungle out there. If you get down that way PM me, maybe try one of the local beaches for treasure? HH
