Picked up a Discovery 2000 this weekend for $25. After cleaning it up (a couple years of dust on it) it looks brand new and works great. It seems to get a little unstable at times if cranked up but nothing serious. Having swung a White's for 37 years, the quality of the Discovery is "cheap" but it does do something my Classic III won't; tone I.D. and notch accept nickles. So now I get to go back to all my trashy sites that I've hunted for years, listen for that low beep and pick up the nickles that I disc'ed out and left behind. I should recover the $25 from nickles by the end of the year. What a deal.

A discoery 2200 at that price is a major steal. The only two things I didn't like about it were the batteries (9V's) and the depth readings were a little off, otherwise, the machine works.
