I'd go with whatever it came out of the box for several hunts. I'm not the norm...I went back to the first version the Equinox came with, after trying the new versions. Point is, try the machine as it came and have yourself a solid feeling to baseline from. jm2c

I say update. Same reasons you run the updated software on your phone/computer. chances are it's preloaded anyway with V3 and there hasn't been another update yet.
