Help.Whites 600Di series three

My son wants to try treasure hunting. I have my granfathers Whites 600DI series 3. I have no idea how to use it what settings to use or what the switch under the display does Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think there were preset marking's on all the dials , that should get ya going. Call Whites up they could send you a user manuel. There should be a lot of Whites users on here also so be patient they will come to your rescue.

Is that a 600 or a 6000?

I have a 6000 series 2 with presets on it.
