We had a friend visit today that shared some artifacts he had found. Any idea what this might be? Found on his grandpa's farm in NWGA.

you are in a good area for civil war relics. draw a line on the map from Chattanooga to Atlanta and you will follow sherman's route. About the same route that I-75 now occupies. The only rub is getting permissions for areas near battle fields.
