I am hopeing to get some pix of different coins from the "Smart Screen" from a Minelab SE or an SE Pro so I can know what to look for.

I have a list of numbers for what to look for but I only use the smart screen, any help would be much appreciated. I'm looking for "smart screen" pix of:

$1 gold coin
$2.50 gold coin
$20 gold coin
1/2 cent coin
20c coin
& any Spanish Reale coins that you may have

If you do have any of these coins can you please post a pix of the "smart screen" below so we all can learn what to look for.

I can't see what the point would be. Even when you get a close reading are you actually going to think it's something from the list? How many hundreds (or thousands) of times will it have to happen and be unsuccessful before you start telling yourself.... nope, just more junk. Given the odds of finding a gold coin, and it matching a reading you have listed, and you thinking ... That's my gold coin! .... is astronomical. Want your best chance... put your head down and start digging all non iron targets like crazy and maybe someday MAYBE you'll be lucky enough to find a gold coin. The sites and especially the area of the world you hunt plays the biggest roll in finding a gold coin. When I start to crunch the numbers here of how many diggers I know, only one gold coin found within hours of me, it's easily a combine 200 years to find a single one! I'll always keep the dream alive but there is no strategy other than maybe going to hunt in the UK for a month.

Seen the other thread first but added my reply here as well. I'm curious to see if anyone else thinks there's any advantage to knowing the numbers.

I have a detector and I want to know where a specific (unknow items to me) item places, thats all.

I can't believe that 2 forum member that have over 5,000 posts cannot read. In my very first line of text I said: "I am hoping to get some pix of different coins from the "Smart Screen" from a Minelab SE or an SE Pro so I can know what to look for." I would hope that others would see that and say to themselves that ok this guy doesn't know where these coins regester at. I think it makes perfect sense to at least see where the different coins come in at, in my case I know I wouldn't of dug a lot of those signals in the past because they don't ring up as the normal coins that I find (penny, dime, quarter, half, & nickel) and to dig every signal is just flat out crazy. Now I know that the odds of ever finding a gold coin are against me but its totally impossible to dig one if I keep skipping their signal.

If you have nothing but defeatits attitudes towards my post then just steer clear of it as I don't need nor care to read your negative feedback.
Thanks and Happy Hunting...

I bet you could take your detector into a coin shop and they would be happy to swing those items by your coil so you could see how they display. The other week I stopped in one after detecting and was amazed at what this guy had in such a small shop.
It was very interesting and the guy showed me a lot of cool coins, bills, and certificates!

i just got an explorer se pro this year and can tell you that the numbers and smart screen locations change a little from area to area
depends on the depth of the coin and how long its been in the ground older coins seem to give better signals then newer ones
maybe the helo effect gets stronger the longer the coin sits?

I have found all of those except for the gold coins. None of them hit where they hit on the screens pictured. Good luck with all of that. I'm with IP.

Knowing where a gold coin hits on the screen will not even remotely help you.

It's a topic, trying to help the guy out, and if you see it as negative that's your problem.

I can read perfectly fine and was just trying to make you understand something to help you out. (and maybe others too) That being said, good luck and enjoy your little screen project.

If I had an explorer and access to the coins you mention TF, I would gladly help you out with your request. I can understand the fascination of the #'s and that's what they are there for, not to be relied upon but to give another reference in conjunction with the tones. ;D

When I first got the Etrac, I waved every coin I had in front of it. This helped me to understand the tones/numbers and machine in general. I've found that the #'s are very accurate on shallow targets, however the deeper a target is, # accuracy will begin to deteriorate espesh Fe # but Co #'s tend to stay close regardless of depth. If there is iron nearby...forget Fe #'s they will be all over the place, but that coin will come through. :icon_thumright:

Try searching other forums as well, as there may be someone there who has already covered the info you're lookin for...

Good luck and HH everyone
