Yup, it's called 'tectoritis and it's going around! Take plenty of water, spare batteries, and call back in a week!

I've got them charged, digger, ready to go along with some water and sun screen. I have a trip scheduled first thing in the morning.

I'll post updates tomorrow with my finds.

Not sure how to post pics from mobile app but I was able to finds several bottle caps, pull tabs, a paper shot gun shell, a blue jean button, a beanie weannie lid, 2 wheaties and 1 new penny.

Not as well as I had hoped for but there is always tomorrow.

They were 1944,1945 and 1962 (non wheat). It's funny your say that because I was thinking the same thing about the silver. Here is a sneak peak of one of the places I was at. You wouldn't think someone would lose anything here. (see below)

I wouldn't have ever expected there to be coins in a spot like that! I would have maybe thought to hunt a spot like that for nuggets, or possibly relics. I have an old foundation site that I dug a 1920 and 1951 wheat, & I keep going back hoping for that silver! Nothing yet, but I STILL think it's there somewhere. HH

There is a hiking trail that passes through the rock formation. I found the pennies just a few feet off the path.

I imagine someone digging in their pocket or purse for a camera and dropping coins.

I'm sure there is silver around there too. Maybe other detectorist have dug out the silver and didn't want to dig the pennies.

Of course this is all speculation.

I'll be returning there and when I find more i'll let ya know.

That is a very likely scenario. Good thinking!
