sovereign XS 2 Pro

Just picked up a used XS 2 Pro and looking for any info. The battery is in the machine but no charger. Can i still get battery and charger or can i switch it over to use regular batteries? I wanted to find out before taking the pack apart.

Or should I just throw it away?

Any info would be great

Apparently that's a 12v nicad pack.

Reading a little, it's apparently hard to find pack/charger.

But it shouldn't be too hard to convert it to run on alkaline cells, or another rechargeable pack.

If you decide to junk it, let me know, and I'll see if I can convert it.

I have one just like that . took mine to batteries plus. took them a week to change out the old batteries
with a charger was around 51.00 dollars when got done. course that was around 7 years ago.

if you have the slide in rechargeable battery pack,
from my understanding the batteries in it are smaller sized special AA batteries
that are Soldered together to make one.
So no you cannot use AA's in it.

And if you use AA's in a regular battery pack,
you also need a Pcb Board


&
then everything is slightly too long for the battery door to securely snap shut .



Last place I found rechargeables for it were Kellyco

there may be 2 types of Battery systems in the XS2 Pro but not sure.
There are some that have a Plug in battery.
(Wire with plug on the end on the Sovereign, that connects to the rechargeable)
though that may be the 2a pro or original XS I am not 100% sure they didn't change after the model Number.

I'm pretty sure it uses the same charger as the Excalibur which you can get on EBay. You should still be able to download the manual from Minelab to verify.

Hi,I have the xs2a pro,it's very difficult to get batteries for that machine,there's a guy in the U K who will make up battery packs for the machine,they cost about £60 each,the voltage in the UK is 240v in the USA its 110,you would have to contact him to see if your charger would work with them.

You would also need to Duct tape the Battery pack to the machine as I'm sure with the extra Plug receptacle
on the end of the Battery pack, the battery Door & Compartment will be unusable as intended

Actually, that's how Minelab did it on those batteries. It fit fine as the battery pack is shorter than the battery compartment. I plan on changing my XS 2 Pro batteries with the pcb to the plug style. Works much better, and the connection is solid.

Yeah that was a nice pick up for $10, especially with only 8 scratches on the coil. I bet it was only used once or twice.

I just sent my XS and XS2 Pro to Kellyco repairs for a service and mod. I'm having them change the XS2 Pro battery set up to one like the XS, so I can share batteries between them... and get replacement batteries if needed.
