Pro coil is very good, light and well balanced. That's as large as I will go these days. I also like as a second coil either a sunray X8 or the minelab FBS 7.25".
For the smallest of coils the sunray X5.
In the past I used the 12X10 SEF and its a great coil also.

1. Coiltek WOT 15"
2. NEL Sharpshooter 5.5x9.5"
3. Detech 13" Ultimate
4. I never use the pro coil

I have all 3 and use them based on the type of hunting I am doing.

!. NEL Big, Nel 15" Attack, Coiltek WOT, Detech big butterfly.....in that order
2. Sunray X-5, Coiltek 6" treasureseeker, Coiltek 5X10, Detech excelerator
3. Would depend on search area trash level. The stock coil is a pretty good all around coil.
4. In some ways the stock coil is better. More depth and coverage than the small coils, better target separation than the big ones. Sometimes it's more stable in certain ground and areas with EMI.

Not as easy as the stock coil, but, not bad once you practice a bit. At the beach, it isn't an issue. I now prefer the NEL Attack coil for large search areas. It's slightly bigger than the WOT (even though they're both advertised as being 15"), it's more stable, and it pin points better than the 2 spoke WOT I previously used. I haven't done a comparison on the newer WOT yet.

What is the best coil for the etrac (besides pro coil)
1. Best large coil for depth?
2. Best small coil for trashy areas?
3. Best overall aftermarket coil. If you could only have one coil.
4. Is the pro coil better than any after market you have tried?

Thanks guys for your time

17 inch NEL will find silver easily over a foot down....
FBS 6 inch is more maneuverable in the woods and in stubble plus I found it deeper than Detech...
17 inch NEL is worth every penny...
Pro coil is great...Explorer II coil is deeper when paired with my Etrac...NEL is just too deep to compare against any other coil...
