A factory reset will reset the settings back to factory settings losing any custom settings, hence the name "factory settings" You have option to reset the GEO, the settings or all. Reset all will delete all custom settings and programs, reset settings will reset just the settings but will not depete any of the custom programs you made or uploaded. If your going to change coils you should turn the detector off to do so, when you turn it back on it is set to go...

Swapping out the stock coil for the new 17" coil was basically turn it on and go, no issues whatsoever. Sounds & FE/CO numbers were the same as before. I didn't do a "reset". I then put the stock coil back on and same-same.

From what I've seen using all 3 coils is that it knows what it's doing all by itself. For that price I'm expecting no less...:)

no, NEVER do a factory reset each time you switch coils with the CTX, it´s not needed. :) GL & HH

Definitely not needed.... the only "fun" part about a CTX 3030 coil change is working the cable up through the shaft.
