Bein' near-deaf, I don't listen to music very often, and when I do it's
got to be songs I know from when I was young and know all the lyrics
to, otherwise I have no idea what their singing.

Heading home from town the other day I turned on the "Classic Rock"
station, and on came an old Deep Purple favorite from the 70's. Guess
it was just the mood I was in, 'cause when I stopped at a light a teenager
in the car next to me had a completely shocked look on his face...

Guess he'd never seen a white haired old man rockin' out to some
real music! rasta.nana.gif

Rock on ! :headbang:
I know the feeling. I had a couple kids pull up next to me playing something dreadful thru some ABSOLUTELY shot speakers. They had it cranked up. I put down my window and let loose with Smoke on The Water, sounded good on my system in my Corvette. Needless to say, they turned theirs down. :laughing7:

With the classic lineup of Blackmore, Paice, Lord, Glover and Gillam, DP was arguably the best hard rock band yet. Of course, that was the Golden Era for rock music - literally dozens of superb groups from Great Britain and some good ones from the USA too.
