1874 Seated Liberty Half Dollar
While hunting a ghost town in central New Mexico last Friday (played hooky from work!!) I found a mens ring and this half dollar. I about fell over dead when it came out of the ground, all I kept saying is "Oh my god" then I called a hunting buddy to tell him since I was by my self and there was no one to share the find with! I have been hunting this site for about 2 years and have found other stuff but nothing like this....it was in an area I have never ventured into and thought I would check it out for foundations and bldg debris...the usual stuff ya look for in a ghost town. This was a coal mining town for quite some time and was abandon in the early 1900's. The half is almost like new and shows very little wear...glad I didnt wack it with the pick!
I hope you enjoy it and thanks for looking.
Trashpicker..
