A sneak peak into part of my collection & how I display my finds

Kirk PA's post "18th Century Display" inspired me to lay out some frames I have on hand. From his post I noticed that many of you are not taking advantage of Riker mounts to display your finds. I have been using them forever, and have at least this many more filled that are not in the picture. However, I keep most of my finds segregated by site, so that means site specific frames, and what doesn't go into the frames goes into labeled boxes. There are a few frames here that are mixed sites, like my Confederate frame and my Victorian frame.

Some of the pictures are blurry, and I didn't take any good close up's, but if anyone wants to see some, here is a link to an earlier post I made last summer.

You have inspired me, Steve, on displaying my finds better. I am going to start purchasing more of these Riker display cases.

You have an amazing collection of relics and coins, my friend. It is nice to see a Colonial relic hunter in PA who is passionate about his work. Thank you for sharing bits of Colonial history from Western PA.

Great displays Steve, I know from personal experience deciding how to display our finds can be challenging at times and you seemed to have done a great job with yours.

If you are talking about the last picture, it actually a blacksmith made pick. I dug it out of the roadbed of a colonial road that dates back to the 1750s. It was about 18 inches deep. I like to think that the road builders lost it, but I can't prove that.

Yep. Just do a web search on "Riker Mounts" and you will find lots of places to buy them from.

Bought my first metal detector in 1985. I started concentrating on colonal period material in 1990. So basically about 25 years I've been at it. I like looking for anything Cival War and older, but with silver prices what they are, I may start hitting some 20th century sites this year when I don't have a good colonial or Civil War site to go to.
